I can’t take nsaids and my doctor has me on LEFLUNOMIDE. A couple of months ago she added methotrexate injections but i can’t tolerate the drug and all of the other options have really bad side edfects. I would rather take prednisone if possible
Yes, try stay away from prednisone. I've been on it 27 years.... methotrexate is horrendous....
Try swim, meditate, a much add it hurts try keep active, force yourself to walk that extra two steps, do everything you can to stay mobile. 💚
I took prednisone all the time a long time ago. It made me feel great. But, I gained weight, developed diabetes, cataracts. Best to not use it all the time, just when the pain is bad.
I have a friend that can take prednisone for along time and it really helps her. I can’t take prednisone as I experienced several side effect.
I was very sick and was taking 60 mg every other day until the kidney problem got better. It took forever to wean this dosage down to 10 mg a day!
Hi: I was prescribed Prednisone in large doses when I was first diagnosed with Lupus in 1994. My kidneys were not filtering and the Prednisone may have saved my life! I remember taking Prednisone in various doses until I weaned off of it in early 2000. I gained at least 30 lbs, acquired Moon face, got Cataracts in both eyes and RA.
It is a miracle drug with not so good side effects.
