I was started on prednizone and amtaking 10 mg daily and started on Humira four weeks ago. It doesnt seem to help. Labs show I am still low for RBC, hematocrit, and hemoglobin.
Ill be starting Humira in a week. I don't have an fatigue issues associated with my RA so are you taking any supplements for inflammation ? If you are interested in what I am taking, I can supply you with the info. I cut out GLUTEN, SUGAR and NIGHTSHADE VEGETABLES. I need to reduce my caffeine and I had to cut out wine as it made my joints swell.
I took provigil for fatigue. It is a narcolepsy med and was not labeled for RA fatigue so had to send RX to Canada and have it shipped to me in order to avoid high cost in US. It is not a form of speed and did not have side effects for me. I was working long hard hours as a hospice RN and driving a lot. It greatly enhanced the safety in my life. I will gladly go back on it needed and not sure if it is approved in US for RA yet but will check. None of my RA meds, except high dose steroids provided any relief from fatigue.
For fatigue I take NAD supplement and phosphatidylserine and methyl B12 and methyl folic acid and high dose vitamin D. Hang in there🤗
