Members shared a wide range of strategies for managing the crushing fatigue that comes with rheumatoid arthritis, with the most common advice being to take daily naps whenever possible, even if just for 15 minutes, and to pace yourself without guilt when tasks can wait until tomorrow. Several members mentioned supplements and medications that have helped them, including folic acid, B-12, vitamin D, iron infusions for anemia, stimulants like Vyvanse or Adderall prescribed by doctors, and Cymbalta for pain and sleep, while others found relief through dietary changes like avoiding sugar and white flour in favor of whole grains, fruits, vegetables, and smoothies. A recurring theme was the acknowledgment that nothing fully eliminates the fatigue, but finding the right combination of rest, nutrition, medication adjustments, and better pain control can make daily life more manageable, with many members expressing solidarity over the frustration of needing rest while still working.

I eat a banana every morning and fruit and veggie smoothies really help. You don't need a fancy juicer just a good blender. Check at the book stores there are many good books with recipes. It will be a little chunky but think of it as apple sauce and you need the roughage. And apples are anti inflammatory.

I have problems with anxiety and recently i started trying something new. I know this may sound strange but it actually works for me. My anxiety usually involves something that happened in the past or something that may happen in the future. It usually isnt about this moment. So i try to stay focused on this moment and forget the past and future. As soon as I do the tension and stress just melts away. Its hard to do sometimes and im still working on it..it may take a while, but it does help me. I try to not take medicine unless i have no other option.

I just rest when I can...do things a little slower. If you can't get things done and if its not urgent...there is always tomorrow.

My rheumatologist prescribed folic acid several years ago. It helps quite a bit. I also lay down in the afternoon. Even if it's only for 15 minutes it helps.

My doctor recently suggested to add cymbalta to my regimen. I'm considering it for pain and to sleep better. Thanks Sam, as always, for your guidance.
