Is lactose intolerance part of RA too?

Several years ago I became lactose intolerant for about 6- 9 months, nothing major, just uncomfortable and then it went away. We assumed it was some type of virus or bacteria. I have been taking methotrexate for several months now and I find milk is starting to bug me again. Not sure if it's related to the RA or not.

I can have cheese and yogurt occasionally but milk and ice cream are off the table. I think it is a part of the RA process because I've been on many medications and it's not them.

Methotrexate can cause nausea & milk can be hard to digest. I never had any stomach issues but many people do.

I have had the same experience. Off and on with the lactose. Love almond milk. Have had good luck with the lactate pills when I really want cheese or dairy!

I’ve even been tested for lactose and gluten allergies all come up negative but I’m thinking the meds are messing with my system so I stay away from it as much as possible
