Members shared mixed experiences with methotrexate and its side effects, with many describing a predictable pattern of brain fog, nausea, fatigue, and feeling wiped out for one to three days after taking their dose, particularly on weekends. Several members found that switching from oral tablets to subcutaneous injections reduced stomach issues but didn't always eliminate nausea or fatigue, while others mentioned that prescription folic acid, vitamin D3, and biotin helped manage hair loss and some side effects. A recurring theme was that methotrexate works well for many but not everyone, with some members enduring months of difficult side effects before either adjusting or switching to biologics like Enbrel or Humira.

Oh yes the brain fog hangover was bad for me for first 2 days and could be nauseous at any time. Tablets were worse but injections not much better! Stick with it and see what happens as the weeks progress.

I took methotrexate for a few weeks - It gave me brain fog for 2-3 days every week, made me nauseous and tired, did not help any of the symptoms. I switched to Enbrel, which seems to making me feel a lot better

Thanks all! I will stick with it for the 20 weeks. The subq might be better. It is starting to ease the pain so I guess it's all about balancing good/not so good effects...
