Two years ago, I began having daily headaches (and intermittent dizziness). Every single freaking day. Sometimes my face hurts too - -in my sinuses -- even though all scans have come back completely clear and I have no congestion. Many many doctors/tests later, I was told it was "vestibular migraine" because it sounds like it and there is no physical think wrong with ears/head/etc. During those 2 years, my rheumatoid factor, CRP, sed rate....have all increased (my rheumatoid factor is in the… read more

Members connected deeply over the frustrating experience of daily headaches and facial pain, with many describing similar symptoms including top-of-head pain, burning sensations behind the eyes, dizziness, brain fog, and difficulty finding words, leaving them uncertain whether their RA or another condition like occipital neuralgia or fibromyalgia is the cause. Several members shared practical relief strategies, including taking Advil and Tylenol together, using ice packs or headache hats from Amazon, supplementing with calcium-magnesium-zinc combinations and B vitamins, staying well-hydrated, reducing dairy intake, incorporating anti-inflammatory foods like turmeric and tart cherry juice, and wearing earplugs to manage sensory overload. A recurring theme was the emotional relief of being believed and not feeling alone, as many expressed frustration that doctors dismiss the potential connection between their RA inflammation and daily headaches, despite the timing and severity suggesting otherwise.

I was looking up some information on sensory symptoms. I found this helpful. Ihad to put ear plugs in because loud noises increase my irritability and feel like I want to jump out of my skin from over stimulation.

OMG! Phoebe , I get head aches pretty much everyday too! My face hurts my skull hurts even my eyeballs seem bruised and hurt. When my doctor asks where the headaches seem to be originating, I I don't have an answer for her. Its everywhere.
The only thing that seems to ease the pain is taking 1 sometimes 2 Advil extra strength and a Tylenol extra strength. Putting ice packs on my head, face and back of neck.
It never completely goes away, but it does become bearable. Going to speak with my rheumatologist next week. Maybe he has an answer. I have RA and Fybromyalgia. So I am not sure which is causing this. Keep yo posted if he gives me any kind of solution. Hugs💕
