What Do Y'all Do For Finger/hand Pain?

A myRAteam Member asked a question 💭

My fingers have been hurting so bad for the past week and I've tried everything I know. I'm desperately seeking suggestions to get relief! I've had steroid shot, ibuprofen, pain pills, warm soaks, ice packs, compression gloves and nothing is helping 😢 HELP

Members shared a wide range of remedies for severe finger and hand pain, with the most frequently mentioned solutions being paraffin wax treatments, compression gloves, warm water soaks, and topical treatments like diclofenac sodium gel, Voltaren, Arnica gel, Aspercream, and Bengay. Several members emphasized that while these options can provide temporary relief, finding the right medication to protect joints and achieve remission is essential for long-term management, though many acknowledged the frustration of dealing with medication side effects and the ongoing search for what works. A recurring theme was the solidarity around finger pain being particularly difficult to manage, with members offering encouragement to keep trying different approaches and to communicate openly with doctors about stronger pain relief when needed.

I put my hands under the sink under hot water and squeeze a hot rag in the mornings helps with stiffness 🤗

For hand/finger pain, which I have horribly in my left thumb joints, Arnica gel rubbed into the painful joints two or three times a day relieves my pain to where it is tolerable. I get mine at Whole Foods. It is completely organic.

Oh my. I feel you. I’m so frustrated that there isn’t anything to help. I can tell you I live by the beach and being in the ocean feels so good all over my body. I do soak my fingers in epson salt. Cold water only helps.
