Members rallied around someone struggling with medication-related hair loss, with the overwhelming consensus being that prescription-strength folic acid (especially for those on methotrexate) and biotin supplements were the most effective solutions, though results varied widely from person to person. Several members shared practical strategies including switching to sulfate-free and paraben-free shampoos, taking collagen supplements, using products like Pura d'or or Pantene for thinning hair, and giving any treatment at least three months to work before expecting visible improvement. A recurring theme was the emotional toll of hair loss and the frustration that some members continued to experience thinning even after stopping medications or trying multiple remedies, yet the community remained hopeful and generous in sharing what worked for them.

I'm not sure all of this information will help, but these are the products purchased from Amazon that I take/use to combat the effects of medications:
For skin/hair issues - Bioten works, but Collagen works better, there are powders to mix with juice or pills you can take. NeoCell Super Collagen + C pills or Protein Essentials Premium Collagen, Hydrolyzed Peptids Powder
Nordic Naturals Complete Omega, supports healthy skin, joins and cognition
Divine Bounty Super B Complex Vitamins - all B vitamins
SilverOnx Turmeric Curcumin with Ginger - anti-inflammatory joint relief - ginger helps with swelling
For sleep: Gaia Herbs SleepThru - natural sleep aid (works great)
for pain: Sombra Warm Therapy Natural Pain Relieving Gel
for hair/shampoo: Shikai Natural Everyday Cleansing Shampoo - plant based, non-soap, non-detergent, gently cleanses leaving hair soft and manageable - unscented
Body wash: Emily Liquid Soap Soother (unscented)

Biotin which is a vitamin. At least 5000 mg. I get it from Amazon. It takes several months of taking it every day to begin to notice a difference.

I am only taking a low dose prednisone and finally don't have massive hair loss. Now with that said I had horrendous hair loss! I tried the folic acid, I also (when I remember) take an over the counter vitamin for hair, skin and nails. I also have now switched my shampoos!! Nothing with sulfates or parabens! Tresemme and herbal essence or go to Sally's beauty supply. It has made a difference.
All I can tell u is if u have come off your meds or u r loosing your hair please, please research your shampoo!!! I found the biggest thing that caused my hair lose was my shampoo not actually the meds and yes I have been on all the same meds as you all have been!

I'm currently using folic acid, One Source which is for hair, nails and skin and good multivitamin. Someone told me about send stuff you could buy at Walmart that topical and you put it directly on your head but I have not bought it yet when I do I'll let you know how it works..๐ŸŽ„โ›„๐Ÿš‚
