I had a knee replacement two years ago and the scar tissue was so aggressive and fast that if affected the range in my knee almost immediately after surgery.
I had to be put under by surgeon to bend the knee to break the scar tissue as scar tissue is like cement and incredibly painful to try to force it yourself.
It is not as bad as it sounds and my surgeon likened it to a very aggressive physio appointment, but too painful to do on your own.
I also rented a CPM machine (continuous passive motion machine) that I used 30 times a day to ensure my leg kept bending and scar tissue would be able to build up again.
KimStager@ i had a lumbar nerve block. It was amazing. I have a service dog too, he works in my practice he is a psychiatric dog.
You can have animals at hodpital??
I had the procedure two years ago. My range now is good. I can sit and walk properly and ride a bike. I was told that the range would be approx the same as before the original operation. So not perfect, but does not hold me back.
The procedure does have some risks, as the surgeon needs to know what he is doing.
Here is a website that explains it quite accurately.

Good luck! Let me know how it went.

I was given an epidural and light sedative (actually not awake) to have the knee bent to break the scar tissue and was not painful at all. They made me stay in hospital for two nights, although really did not need to. They also put me on the CPM machine while I was there.
Once I went home, no pain; however I was in that machine constantly to make sure the scar tissue did not take hold again. The doctor said some people's immune systems are very aggressive and that is why the scar tissue developed so fast.
