Does anyone know if this is how early RA looks?
My hands have been tingling and burning this weekend and have been very weak. I actually had to change hands when I was channel surfing because they would get so weak. This is a new symptom.

Members responded to someone showing photos of swollen, weak hands with tingling and burning sensations, with many confirming the appearance looked consistent with rheumatoid arthritis and urging immediate consultation with a rheumatologist to start treatment before joint damage progresses. Several members shared their own experiences with similar hand symptoms, describing curved fingers, nodules, weakness so severe they couldn't write or grip objects, and explaining how RA typically affects different finger joints than osteoarthritis or psoriatic arthritis. A recurring theme was the importance of early intervention with medications to slow disease progression, though some members acknowledged their own treatments had not prevented hand deformities or loss of function over time.

Weakness can be a factor as well as some numbness, cold, hot, aches and pains but the tingling sounds like nerve issues. Check with your rheumatologist as soon as you can.

Yes, if you're not on meds yet, you need to start them immediately. If you are already on RA meds, it's time to have a serious talk with your rheumy to find something else that will work better.

I have RA, Psoriatic and Osteoarthritis and Psoriatic can make the joints in your fingers turn bad. It effects the first joint at the end of your fingers. The second joint is RA and Osteo effects fingers also. I have a lot of bending on the end or first joints. My Reumatologist explained my hands to me. Sharon I notice you have a bent pinkie finger like I do. But you also have second and third joint curving or swollen. That is definitely RA. Mine have swayed to one side or the other, some fingers go left some go right. Really pretty huh! That’s why I never wear nail polish. I sure don’t want to draw attention. They are noticeable enough. Complete strangers commit on my fingers.
