Members offered a variety of practical solutions for managing severe dry mouth and salty throat, with the most frequently recommended options being Biotene moisturizing mouthwash or spray (available over the counter), sugar-free gum, sugar-free lemon drops, and staying consistently hydrated with water. Several members with Sjögren's syndrome shared that prescription medications like Pilocarpine (generic for Salagen) and Cevimeline (generic for Evoxac) work well, though Cevimeline is significantly more expensive despite requiring fewer daily doses. A recurring theme was the value of combining multiple strategies, including nighttime products like Xylimelts tablets that stick to gums and dissolve slowly, along with practical shopping tips like finding affordable sugar-free options at dollar stores, Trader Joe's, Walgreens, CVS, and Walmart.

Brand new on here,( just signed up), but I take Pilocarpine 5MG tablets. That may be generic. But they work really well. I also have Sjoghrens and have dry mouth all the time. Hope this works for you.
