Extremely tight hamstring and quad is preventing me from walking unassisted. I have tried tens, pt, massage and heat. Have any of you tried more invasive Procedures such as dry needling, surgical manipulation, botex injection, etc? What were the results and recovery time?
Tavy8389 - Acupuncture is actually so easy and non painful that you really don't think it's working until you stay still for a while with the needles in and realize that your pain has gone way down. Sometimes goes away all together. The acupuncturist puts very small needles in once you've described where the pain is. And then you just lie, or sit, with the needles in from 15 minutes to 1/2 hour.
I've been lucky to find a few really good acupuncturists. Several physiotherapists have also trained in acupuncture and those are the people I've had the best luck with.
Good luck. I hope you can find someone and have great success with acupuncture
Ask your DR about Baclofen.
I just had dry needling the other day , so far so good
I've had both acupuncture and dry needling. both of which worked very well for me.
Invasive Ham String Procedure:
Hi,
I'm not sure if you're referring to Nerve Conduction Studies done by a Neurologist. But I had it done in conjunction with the blood test ANA, and that's how they found my RA and Polymyositis.
They stick little needles all over the problem area and give you electric impulses. They put abt 40 in both legs and both wrists. I hv RA in my wrist, hands and finger joints, and Poly in both of my leg muscles.
They really didnt hurt, just a little sting for about a second.
After 9 months of multiple tests, they finally could diagnose me properly.
Best wishes to you,
Tavy
