I have been suffering from arthritis for as long as I can remember, however, I was only diagnosed two years ago. Lately I have been noticing that my hands are starting to look funny. Genna, I didn't have RA in my teenage years. But I was the tallest girl and towered over all the boys in school and I hated it. I survived by making jokes about it and laughing a lot. Try to remember everyone has insecurities especially in the teenage years. You will get thru it and laughing helps. Taking to your family and friends helps a lot too. Ask older brothers and sisters for joke material. They always know the good ones.
Hi Genna, I’m new here but I’m going through the same thing not to mention an unsightly rash on my fingers. I was so depressed because I was feeling very insecure on top of pain and deformity. I started googling for arthritis/compression gloves and instead of ordering a pair online I found a pair at my local pharmacy. Now people may ask why you wear them but I thought that would be easier to deal with. Besides they are warm and they offer enough compression to ease the pain. The finger tips are also out which helps😉. They are lightweight too! Google them and at least that way if they have some in stock near you, you can see that before you make the trip. I hope this helps! Take care of yourself🤗
