@A myRAteam Member The rheumate is to help with side effects of methotrexate so that is not really treating the RA. What dose of methotrexate are you on? Has your rheumy ever put you on an kind of steroid? It might also be time to add a biologic if you are still experiencing swelling and pain. If he does suggest a steroid, ask for Medrol instead of prednisone - it seems to have less side effects.

@A myRAteam Member What meds are you currently taking. If you are on any RA treatments - methotrexate, steroids, biologics - those should be helping with swelling and pain. It's hard to suggest anything without knowing what you're doing to treat it now.

It made me worse, I take voltarn

I haven't had much luck with Meloxicam. The Doctor took me off last visit.

I am on Meloxicam and have been on it since before my diagnosis. My dose was increased to twice a day now. It is hard on the stomach, even when taken with food. I take a stomach medication - pantoprazole to help with that. Sometimes I think it is not doing much, but whenever I accidentally miss a dose, I realize what it is doing.
