Any Advice? I Need Some Relief?

A myRAteam Member asked a question 💭
Temple, GA

Why aren't any of my meds working? I'm on 1200 mg gabepentin, 3000 mg glucosamine, 200 mg trazadone, 15 mg melatonin, 40 mg mobic, 3 mg risperdal, 40 mg celexa, calcium, d3, a once a week 50,000 unit of D2, plus a few other daily meds & more than my limit of Aleve, Excedrin & Advil. I have no insurance so I'm very limited to changing any of these meds. But I'm open for suggestions. I'm getting very little to no relief from any of them right now. Any advice???

I agree. All of your meds are not going to help Ra. I do have a question, don't u find it hard to function with taking that much gabepentin ?

If you can see a rheumy or even a GP. They can het you started on at least a steroid.
Biologics can be pricey but most of them offer free if not reduced rates.
Don't wait too long.

Gabepentin - used for nerve pain. Glucosamine - supplement for joint damage. trazadone - anti-depressant.
Melatonin - a supplement that can help with sleep. Mobid - anti-inflammatory. Risperdal - bi-polar. Celexa - anti-depressant. As far as I can tell, you are not taking anything to treat RA. The gabepentin might help your fibro but is doing nothng for RA. Do you have a rheumatologist? How long ago were you diagnosed? \
All I can say is that looking at your list of medications, it's no wonder you are not getting any reief.

To answer some questions.
* No I don't have a rheumatologist.
*I was diagnosed about a year ago.
*no I'm not on anything to treat RA.
*No I don't find it hard to function from the gabepentin. It doesn't make be sleepy
* I don't have insurance, so therefore I can't afford a specialist.
*Have applied for help, but say my husband makes to much.
*That's why I've been researching to see if there's anything I can do or not to do to try to help.

I think that's all of the questions answered.

Idk I'm just frustrated, tired, irritable, miserable from all these health issues

I was given Gabepentin at first it didn't help me either. It took over a year to get the right combo. If you have trouble affording meds call manufacturer they will usually help.
