Can We Talk Trochanteric Bursitis? (hip Bursitis)
Do any of you suffer from this without end? I've been treated with hip injections for several years now. I follow the physical therapy exercises without curing this problem. The shots quiet it down for 4 months or so and then it comes raging back. I'm wondering if this is a chronic problem for any of you and how you deal with it, like the loss of sleep? New latex mattress, new knee support pillow, voltaren gel, meloxicam..... Oh, what I wouldn't give for one solid night of rest!
Had same since add in child abuses is bad as a F.A, No support from social workers etc... tried TCM now use laser helps some also saw Muscular skelto Doc and he gave me these exercises.. this is doing Elvis ....place one knee down (on cushion balance on eg lounge and foot stool ) other up and stretch slowly release work ... inch further out 3 times .. can stretch right out but am hyper-mobile as in not stuff person. Eg husband is stiff... Change legs.. also another one is lay on side of bed leg goes over... slowly can may get a click ..stretch etc or get a muscular skelto doc to do ...lumbar roll when real bad but can do it yourself maybe other side ....depending on hip..it eases it is all I can say same ..
I also do Dolly Parton go to door place hands to push outwards hold breath while you do theses release then step forward a little and again to 3 times.. it helps breathing from upper back pain from being left on neck a a child...spine cracked and can't sit a sewing machine eg...also had sciatica for years after car accident then for 3 pregnacys doc said oh i think it sounds like .... sciatica oh really ...?
Good luck to you though as it may well last forever as I found as slips out for mine as nothing was done to help me at age 8 1/2 !!
I've tried about everything, too. Even had the hip replaced a little over a year ago, and am still having to have the bursa injected. Now, the iliotibial band is involved. I understand your pain. I'm on MTX (15mg weekly); 5 mg prednisone daily, and 75-150 mg diclofenac daily and nothing really touches this pain. Will be watching for other suggestions. I am quite active: Swimming and walking, too when the pain isn't too bad.
Gabreal, that's a long time. Mine never really goes away and I'm wondering if I should consider surgery to remove it. I know they say it'll probably grow back but at least I could have a break from it for a good long while. It's starting to really wear me down and I think being sleep deprived is adding to my flares. :(
Aw, sorry to hear that. I hope things get a little better for you. I'm actually looking for hip bursitis sufferers specifically.....need help in what to consider doing next. Any advice from anyone out there? Has anyone had the bursa removal surgery?
