Hi, newly diagnosed with RA. Started prednisone today which means no Ibuprofen for pain just Tylenol which is almost useless!

I will be starting methotrexate and folic acid tomorrow, feeling a bit anxious about it. Does anyone have recommendations on morning or night? I was thinking night so I might sleep through some of the side effects...

Don't start fretting over possible side effects. Some people on here talk about how awful the side effects have been for just about every drug out there. Remember, everyone responds differently to the meds. You can get yourself psyched up for no reason. Try taking them at night if you think there might be a problem. I've taken them in the morning for 13 years and have never had any problem.

I've recently started taking it. I find the 'side effects' occur approx 24 hours after taking it. It's mostly just nausea. I take it at night time so I can sleep through the worst of it. The whole experience hasn't been as bad as I had imagined. I think worrying about side effects makes it worst. my approach now is that I will try what the doctor recommends and see how I go. I don't allow myself to get caught up in the what-if's or think that I'll have the same experience as another person.

I just started methotrexate pills last month. I take them every Friday night at 7:00 and have absolutely no side effects at all.

@A myRAteam Member TB tests can show a false positive often or borderline so retest to make sure. I had a false positive the first time for that and valley fever.
