Has anyone had deep gripping buttock pain on one side of the hip and buttock that lasted for days. It hurts to stand and sit and walk. Like a deep muscle spasm with nerve pain. Goes down my leg.

Members overwhelmingly identified the described deep gripping buttock and leg pain as sciatica, with many sharing their own experiences of this painful condition that can come and go unpredictably. Several members recommended practical approaches including gentle stretching exercises found on YouTube, physical therapy for personalized movement guidance, epidural steroid injections for severe cases, and the use of resistance bands to prevent muscles from stiffening due to limited movement. A recurring theme was that while sciatica can be debilitating and sometimes requires medical intervention like injections or even surgery for degenerative disc issues, consistent daily stretching and staying proactive with treatment options can provide significant relief and prevent future flare-ups.

Yes I had exactly what you described. I went to chiropractor and he showed me stretching that has eliminated pain. You have to do them every day. Go on you tube and search stretches for sciatica. I also bought some theraband resistance bands to use when stretching. We are limiting our movement from the pain and that causes our muscles to stiffen this is what can cause this kind of pain. I never had back pain so I could not understand how they diagnosed as sciatica but the stretching has been a god send. No more limping. But I still stretch every day so it does not happen again.

I have the same symptoms that you describe and it is sciatica. I have had about 7 epidural steroid injections in the past 10 years. I just had one 3 weeks ago and it didn't help. I am in a lot of pain and I have to resort to pain pills to get through the workday. Google exercises for sciatica and talk to your doc, I hope you get relief soon.

Sounds like sciatica, and there are easy exercises for that if you Google it! I have issues with it sometimes and it is very painful!!

@A myRAteam Member I have my days. Sciatica comes and goes in my case. The afternoon thunderstorms are worse because as we all can attest that having RA means we feel the wether changes 😏
