The first time around, it took 2 years for my RA factor to be positive on labwork. Xrays, however, were positive from the beginning and were actually what diagnosed the problem. I went to the doc for a suspected broken pinky finger (from playing at a piano concert), and they found RA instead. After 7 years, there was a period of remission, and so far this recurrence, the RA factor has not converted back to positive. I am, however, now positive for Sjogrens, dysautonomia, ulcerative colitis, inflammatory bowel, and adrenal insufficiency/Addisons. When it rains, it pours. #bleh Hope this helps!

My RA Factor was neg for years. I was in pain as a child and I kept pushing myself until I could not move anymore and I was in my 30's. Everyone's body is different and it depends on each person.

Hi, @A myRAteam Member - There's a blood test specifically for Sjogrens and a cheek biopsy test. The blood test I had in February is a newer test, I think it has 4 sub-parts. Three of the four were highly positive in my screening, and the test was ordered by my rheumatologist. Of course, there are the other inflammatory marking tests, ANA, CRP, SED rate, etc., but they're not specific to Sjogrens.

Hiya Elisa I picked up that you have Sjogrens. I was told by an osteopath that I probably have Sjogrens but my doctor said there is no test for it. Were you diagnosed just through symptoms I.e, dry mouth and eyes?
