Never ever hesitate to trade a little extra money for pre-chopped foods (peppers... onions... lettuce) for the convenience of not having to deal with chopping them. The little extra money you spend is offset and more by not dealing with the exhaustion and pain

I am not religious in anyway shape or form and in fact I was born into the Jewish faith however I do appreciate that @A myRAteam Member Who has a great deal of faith is praying for me . I don't take it the wrong way because she is not trying to push me into agreeing with her beliefs. She is simply expressing what she believes and telling me that she is praying for me and couldn't we all use prayers especially those of us who have lost faith ? I do thank each and everyone of you for thinking about me and caring about me as I care about all of you . We belong to the special club and although most people are not banging the doors down to get in those of us who unfortunately are stuck in this club need to know that we have each other's back's and if we hear about something that might help we will share it with each other and if we ever have the good fortune of meeting in person we will know that a great big hug is waiting for us. I may not know you personally but I love all of you and I pray for a cure and pain-free days

For a while I had gotten this disease under control and would get flareups only when the New York weather was really bad ... unfortunately all east coast states suffer with humidity which causes suffering for people with rheumatoid arthritis ...when I would get a very bad flareup rest keeping my legs elevated and taking pain medication was the only real relief and it didn't help that much.. my doctor would then give me prednisone to help with the inflammation. I have had this disease for 41 years and medicine has made tremendous strides in relieving RA inflammation and pain but there is still no cure and until there is we will always have bad days.
Two years ago I collapsed in my house and thankfully they got me to the hospital on time . I had been on a cocktail of Remicade methotrexate Cymbalta and Oxy and the medications had crashed my immune system . Somewhere I had picked up a fungus that grew in my lungs and cause respiratory failure . Had my son not been visiting me I would have been found dead in my home because I only had 50% oxygen in my body . I was put on life-support and my lungs were physically cleaned out four times and since then the doctors have been hesitant to put me on any medications that would help with rheumatoid arthritis . For the past two years I have been unable to work and most days I can't get out of bed . Because of my age and the trauma my body went through I have developed other problems . I now have seizures and a heart murmur call stones kidney stones and a problem with my esophagus . For the first time in my life I have been scared and felt out of control . I never let my disease get in my way- I was the keynote speaker for the arthritis foundation and I hugged all the women who were breast-cancer survivors every year in Central Park at the breast Cancer walk and I helped clean parks and paint schools with New York cares ... I was always involved in charities and I went to work every single day and now there are days I feel helpless and hopeless . But I have to stay strong for my children and for my grandchildren and most of all for myself .
I have started to use medical marijuana in the form of a liquid . It comes in a pan and he does have THC in it but not enough to make you high just enough to help the pain . The other type of medical marijuana has no THC and is used specifically for seizures so if you are using medical marijuana for pain you need to use the type that has THC . You can get it in a liquid form and drop a couple of drops on your tongue or you can get it as a Vape or you can get it as pills .
I hope that some of what I've said helps . The best advice I can give is when you can't do it when you're in so much pain that the tears are rolling down your cheeks that is the time you have to reach deep down inside and force yourself to get up and move because if you give in the next time you experience that kind of pain it will be even harder to move

To minimize flare ups try eating food high in omega-3 such as salmon and fish. Since most of us don't eat these seafood then ask your doctor if you can take a fish oil pill high in omega3. Also eat walnuts, soy foods and flax. Include in your daily diet lots of fruits and vegetables. AND avoid eating red meat. Perhaps following such diet will lead to less medication and less pain. Good luck to you and all my rateam members.

Do any of you think that overly religious postings are inappropriate? My feeling is that people can believe whatever they want to, but if there is a god who can cure everything, then the person posting about it should already be cured, and have no need to be on this site. Sorry, @A myRAteam Member, but I feel that your posting is grossly inappropriate.
