I have fought depression for 20 years. Things I have learned is to recognize it in yourself, have a list of things to do to help depression. I like a massage, fresh flowers. and to call my girls. Double check you are taking your medications correctly. If you can't help yourself, get help, get it now.

i can get depressed,it goes back to what your thinking about, I know what makes me depress so I choose to bring my own self out of it.
you can choose to be happy or choose to think negative thoughts. This is of course what is going on in your life . My oldest son had a major heart attack at 49 had to have a double by pass. I face every fear that a mother could think of . My middle child fell off a semi truck at 44 .landed on his head . * feet. when I got the call ,I ask one question is he alive ??? but on every day basics we can help our self's. I choose prayer
God bless

recognizing symptoms is helpful, but if the person that is depressed does not see nor accept that they are depressed, and seek help there is little anyone can do but try to be there to catch them.
