Any tips on managing pain and fatigue during the work week? My Dr told me to stay away from things like Aleve and I'm struggling while we are trying to get my steroid dosage lower.

Members offered practical strategies for managing pain and fatigue during the work week while tapering off steroids, with the overwhelming consensus being that movement and exercise are essential even when they feel counterintuitive. Several members shared specific routines that have helped them, including stretching exercises like writing the alphabet with their foot to loosen ankles, gentle morning stretches followed by hot showers, pacing and moving every hour at work, and activities like walking or water aerobics to keep joints mobile without overdoing it. A recurring theme was the importance of listening to your body while staying active, preparing questions and support for an upcoming rheumatology appointment, and finding hope in the fact that with the right treatment plan and daily habits, many members have learned to manage their symptoms and maintain their work lives.

I really love mine. They asked me about all my hot joints and explained the process and I left my first appointment with a game plan to get me under control. I had read a lot of bad stories about them and feel like I lucked out with mine! Bring someone though because it is a lot of information!

I thought the exercise stuff was bunk, I WAS WRONG. Exercise is where it's at. You got to remember to take it easy. I am having to learn that the hard way. Walking, water aerobics it works.

I finally will see this RA doctor in December. My original referral was given to me in June. But there were a series of screw ups, out of my control, so December is the earliest.
I'm trying to face the reality of RA now, so when I see the doctor I know what I'm facing.

I get up and pace and stretch every hour or so but I'll have to try to see if it helps my wrists and ankles which get hit the hardest.
