Members confirmed a connection between methotrexate and tinnitus, with several describing persistent ringing, swooshing, or ocean-wave sounds that continued even after stopping the medication. Many shared frustration with doctors who dismissed their concerns or simply advised them to live with it, while one member emphasized the importance of seeing an ENT specialist since tinnitus can signal ear damage or progressive hearing loss. A recurring theme was the validation of feeling less alone in experiencing this distressing side effect and the determination to keep searching for answers despite medical dismissal.

No need to feel alone Darl we all have anomalies like this that add for issues to discuss and share. I had it since my Mother died age 5 used to get music so was comforting .... time later was noise as well along with also ear infections colds .... ah yes and indeed meditation ....have you ever tried from mag give away from health food shops .. I quote 'Meditate like a Zen Monk' advertised sent from US. I purchased some of them whooowa stayed awake most all night for months while listening from ear phone to it seemed to me and wow sounds of ocean waves so not surprizing in this regard to me at all. When you say ocean waves while in during meditation...also went to BK's tried Raja Yoga very good stuff toooo...as the story goes interesting ...
Best of to all...

thanks! and to Irene 1...it is not fluid, it is a constant noise....either ocean or waves or sometimes similar to someone whispering in your ear..it does not stop!!!! I have been to 2 ear specialitst...both say I have to learn to tolerate it. Mine did not go away after stopping mtrx. I'm told it will never go away....you either have it or your don't! it gets so bad sometimes, I vomit frm the constant swooshing in my head. The rheumy said
not possible; once again she is wrong. Thanks all for commenting. I dont' feel so alone now.

Diddo, I have had a number of docs throughout my life of arthritis - and many said that to me. I found a doc who actually wants to give me access to the meds that changed my life. I have noticed on this board, especially with people from the USA that they do NOT know about biologics or Biosimilars and have been on pain killers and steroids to manage arthritis to not amazing results. It breaks my heart that there are SO MANY docs out there who do not really care about the patient they are working with and only want to get paid, so they will keep their patients on whatever treatment is the most lucrative to the doc. I have seen this happen over and over again. I believe in the use of positive energy at times, but pseudoscience and homeopathic remedies for arthritis tend to do much more harm than good.
