I had a knee replaced around age 22 and both hips around 29. I'm almost 50 and glad I did those surgeries. No regrets. However, do it for pain relief not range of motion. Everyone heals different...

Was told I had to be 50 for knee replacement. Turned 50 Oct 06 had knee done nov06. No problems wish I had it done 10 yrs earlier. No pain no problem

I don't know of anyone who has had this kind of replacement but I have had 2 hip replacements and that was well worth doing , I'm pain free in the hips now

I can't move my wrists at all. They've been locked and turned at an odd angle for a few years now. My left looks worse than my right but my right is worse than my left if you look at my X-rays. All of my knuckles are swollen and weird looking. My doctor actually said he was amazed I have as much movement as I do because my X-rays show they're hanging by a thread. Which I am a graphic designer so I type on a computer daily and it's like I told him I feel better if I keep moving. Yes it hurts, but it hurts worse if I just stay still and allow my joints to get stiff and lock up.

At what point are you at that you need replacement surgery? I have almost no movement in my wrists now and am wondering when or if i will need it?
