Members shared helpful insights about medical alert systems in response to a question about personal alert buttons and pendants for safety and emergency tracking. Several members described different options, including medical alert bracelets that store medication and medical information accessible to paramedics, wearable panic buttons that connect to home alarm systems or speaker boxes for emergency response, and smartphone tracking apps that can notify family and friends. A recurring theme was the importance of having reliable emergency communication, especially for those living alone or wanting independence, with members emphasizing that some systems work only at home while others offer mobile coverage in certain areas.

@A myRAteam Member, no, it's just a bracelet so paramedics and ER professionals know about me. :)

Isn't there an IPhone app for that? I think there is something called "track me"??? My 87 year old Auntie used to want to do everything by herself and ahe would fall so We got her the "I've fallen and i Can't get Up" button. They will call to you from a little box/speaker & if you don't answer they send over the police." there are watch type buttons and necklaces which you can even wear in the shower.

When Paramedics arrive they usually check the front of your refrigerator for information. Not guaranteed but it’s common.

My mother has one. She lives alone and she is 78. My brother and his wife live with her when they are home, but she is there alone much more than I care to admit. I call her several times a day just to check on her. I go see her when I am not working. I drive her to appointments. The button hangs around her neck. She can push it if she needs help. It is attached to her burglar alarm. It only works when she is home. I understand some can be attached to your phone but they only work in certain metro areas here.
