Pain In My Heel Feels Like Stabbing Needles

Pain In My Heel Feels Like Stabbing Needles

Ill be sitting or laying down and my feet (they switch off but its mainly the left) feels like hundreds of needles stabbing my foot at once while it throbs then my heel and.middle of my foot goes completly numb for no reason. And it stays that way about 20 mins. Does anyone get this and if so do you know what it is? Im on Savella for fibro pain and im allergic to gabapentin/neurontin.

Best you just rest with your feet elevated above your waist and let it do its thing till it passes...painkillers and a mug of tea may help and it passes the time.x

Laura, I worked for a foot Dr in Michigan for 29 years and it most definitely sounds like neuropathic symptoms. I also thought a neuroma which is a nerve mass that grows between the metatarsal in the foot but neuromas don't usually cause heel pain at the numbness and pain from a neuroma is usually in the forefoot area. I hope that a neurologist can help you if not you may want to consider seeing a good podiatrist.😊

It could be spine related. Chiropractic care may help if not contraindicated. Therapeutic grade geranium essential oil may be helpful.

I get severe pain in my heels and middle of my feet and ankles but no numbness. My RA was first diagnosed in my feet. I was treated for flat feet because I have no arches. I can really relate to how painful it is. I have no idea what this is caused from. Good luck and best wishes.

Oh girl! I'm so sorry. How frustrating!!! Yes, no doubt you feel like you should live at the dr's office having to be there so often. Are your spine issues RA related? My autoimmune diseases have taken most of my hearing - so I'm almost deaf...but I make the best of it. It sounds like you do the same. Hugs! I'll add you to my prayer list!
