Will the feeling of having a tight balloon under my big toe ever go away.
I have recently been diagnosed with RA. I was an avid walker, 1.7 miles a day, but injured feet when walking during flare. I have taken plaquenil for a month, 200 mg a day. finally got a rheumatologist, she just this week upped plaquenil to 400 mgs day. Also take generic for voltaren 100 mg extended release. I have the same problem with my feet. Hammer toes, crocked, burning pain on the bottom and bunions. I have tried every ortho shoe and inserts but nothing relieves the pain. My podiatrist has tried everything but nothing is long term. He will give me a steroid shot in my feet about every 5 months. Nothing else. Sorry
I'd agree, swimming or poolalking works. The water takes the weight off your joints and is a good aerobic activity.
Unfortunately that is quite common. My toes are also in bad shape. My big toe is so far away from the rest it looks like I am sending the peace sign. And I also have hammer toes. I keep them covered at all times.
Sorry I have no answer, but you are not alone.
Many blessings to you and yours
swimming to good for everything!
I have bought drew fusion shoes with a spenco orthotic and have found much relief. But, have to learn to walk in them.
I’ve developed a bunion on left foot, causing big toe to turn away from foot, and my 2nd toe is overtop of big toe. Anyone else?
Does anyone have trouble with their toes. I have corns and calluses. Going to the Podiatrist on Tuesday. I have RA, Ostreo and Fibromyalgia.
