I was diagnosed with RA this past july 2015 . At the time i was not experiencing any physical pain, but was/still am suffering with hives constantly. My Rheymi told me that since my r factor was 280, ana titer at 1:3200 and anti ccp antibodies extremely high that i had a severely aggressive form. I found this hard to believe since i wasn't experiencing pain at the time.......well the past few weeks i have been so extremely week! My legs will barely move and my arms are so heavy. My feet ache so… read more

Members overwhelmingly validated that extreme weakness, heavy limbs, constant aching, and profound fatigue are common RA symptoms, especially during flares, with many sharing their own experiences of barely being able to lift a mug, get out of bed, or walk without pain. Several members offered practical strategies including pacing yourself and accepting a new normal, starting gentle strength training with light weights, eliminating gluten and adding anti-inflammatory supplements like turmeric, asking family to help with household tasks, and working closely with your rheumatologist to find the right medication combination. A recurring theme was the importance of rest without guilt, listening to your body's limits, and recognizing that prednisone itself can cause muscle wasting and weakness even as it provides relief.

What kind of Med's did the Dr. put you on? Unfortunately, with RA you will have to slow down or it will slow you down even faster. I pushed myself with my job too only to end up with a knee replacement and have my RA spread more aggressively. I would recommend you try to slow down your routine and find time for yourself. Meditation, warm bathes, a day on the couch. I knows it seems Impossible but try!!!

Unfortunately yes weakness, fatigue, tireness are all caused by the RA. Work with your RA specialist, rest often, drink plenty of water, eat health, exercise and above all else reduce the stress in your life. RA for me was a game changer (diagnosed May 2015) I begin to accept I had to slow down and rest. The key for me was plenty of rest and now in December 2015 I am feeling much better and you will to just give it time.

I'm no dr but it sounds like to me you are experiencing a flare up of RA. Fatigue goes with the RA and needs to be addressed also. But RA is one of those diseases that you need to follow up with medically and learn how to cope with the constant symptom changes that can lead to what I call "what the heck is going on here?" syndrome. My hope is that you always remember to rest when you can, do what you can do, never be to tough on yourself! Hope things get better everyday and your family understands and realizes things have changed for you and you will not let RA define you.

I feel weak all over a lot. But what is worse to me is the fatigue. Every time I sit down I can fall asleep. I can't even watch a tv show with my family without falling asleep! And I get at least 9 hours of sleep at night!!

Yes I barely got diagnosed with RA. I always felt so tired and pain everywhere just like a pain that's not too strong but not too weak . My hands and feet are the worst ever! I take care of elderlies and I got to make myself wait an hour before I felt good enough (while pain meds trams kicked in )to start getting her up. I went to take grandkids to zoo we walked like forever but the next day I felt so weak and my body felt so heavy and it felt like a truck ran over. Or like if I ran a 10 mile marathon .thats when I knew something was wrong .
