Does Anyone Else Take Immune Support Supplements?

A myRAteam Member asked a question 💭

Being an early elementary school teacher, I've always been concerned about boosting my immune system. Now that I'm taking steroids and a biologic, I'm even more concerned. I was wondering if anyone else has tried supplements, and if they've found any that really make a difference.

In the morning I take Vit D, B12 sublingual tablet, and an adrenal vitamin complex (to help the distress that our adrenals are constantly trying to fight), chelated calcium/magnesium before bed (chelated is a better grade magnesium), and bromelain (for anti inflammatory) and AHCC mushroom complex to support immune function. My Rheu is also recommending OPC3 that I am looking into. I think it is nutra genix.

I was an elementary teacher when I got diagnosed and I was just careful about how much contact I had with kids. I washed my hands frequently and Lysol the tables at the end of each day

Well our immune systems are compromised. We should do whatever we can to keep from getting sick especially from flu and infections. Our immune system has gone haywire but we still have to protect our healthy joints and organs it's a terribly difficult balancing act. Do what makes you feel better. And if you find something, please share it!!!

I take vitamin D 2000 mgs a day and have found it work in conjunction with B12. I teach as well and this has been a life saver for me. My immunology doctor told me about both of those.
