I have never had swelling besides my fingers but it goes down. Does everybody have swelling or is it normal to not have a lot of swelling?

Members shared their varied experiences with swelling in rheumatoid arthritis, with some experiencing daily swelling in multiple joints like feet, ankles, hands, and even the tongue, while others reported little to no swelling at all. Several members found relief through different approaches, including dietary changes, supplements, and medications like Humira and Rituxan infusions, with one member noting Rituxan worked so well they sometimes forget they have RA. A recurring theme was that RA is highly individualized, with swelling patterns varying greatly from person to person and sometimes corresponding to medication timing or disease stage.

I have little to no swelling because I'm getting Rituxan infusions. I honestly sometimes forget I have RA; this medication works that well for me. It's very expensive, but if you have medical insurance the company that makes Rituxan will cover your co-pay if you sign up for their program. I never had to pay anything. I just started on Medicare this May. I've since found out Medicare Part B will cover all but 20%, and my supplemental Plan F will pick up the rest. I will not be charged for any part of the infusions. I know some people are afraid to have an infusion, but I experienced nothing but a little nausea and a very mild headache for about a day after the infusion. That's it. It lasts me more than six months before I need another infusion. I'm on no other medication for my RA.

I haven't had much swelling since early days of disease. I've had it for about 30 yrs. It depends on person and how the disease hits them.
