Pretoria, ZA

I am going to be going on Actemra, and would like to know what people have experienced on this drug - I.e. Side effects etc.

Thank you

I have been on Acterma for a year now. I have had no side effects and have been pain free. The first of the year, I had to wait 2 weeks for my regular infusion and was still free of pain.

Thanks for your comments. I had my infusion yesterday. I have had no side effects since being on Actemra.
I have RA throughout, mainly in spine. I still need to be on RX pain medication, trigger point and epidurals. I just came home from an epidural for Siatica pain which I've had for about a year. Not sure whether or not Actemra is working on its own or a combination of meds, PT, pain management working all together.

I started Actemra, Oct. '14, I didn't see any results right away like I did with Enbrel. That was very disappointing for me.I feeling better that I was. I to have been off and on with this drug due to low wbc, as well as abnormal kidney and liver functions. My doc feels if I can take this drug on a regular basis that it will put me back in remission.

I have been on Actemra for about two years and haven't had ahh major problems with side effects. I tend to be a bit headachy for a couple days and feel wiped out for a couple days. I have been on Remicade (lots of side effects) and Orencia (only a couple minor side effects) infusions over the past eleven years that I've received infusions. Actemra has been pretty easy for me to take as RA meds go. I hope you have a good experience with it!!

Was was on Actemra for about 3 years. The major side effect for me was it lowered my white blood cell count & I had to stop the infusions & wait a few weeks till the count built back up before I could continue. This meant I wasn't always getting it regularly or every 30 days to be effective. It did help with the pain in the beginning but after about 2 1/2 years it became less helpful for me. I finally switched to Xeljanz.
