Members shared their experiences of being diagnosed with both lupus and rheumatoid arthritis, with some receiving simultaneous diagnoses while others saw one condition evolve into another over many years, sometimes after decades of remission. Several members described overlapping or crossover autoimmune conditions, including mixed connective tissue disease, fibromyalgia, psoriatic arthritis, and scleroderma, with practical guidance around monitoring symptoms closely, advocating for accurate medical records, and exploring different treatment approaches including Plaquenil, methotrexate, and prednisone. A recurring theme was the frustration of navigating unclear or shifting diagnoses, the challenge of managing multiple conditions simultaneously, and the comfort of connecting with others who understand the complexity and unpredictability of living with overlapping autoimmune diseases.

I read everything out there about RA. I was amazed at what it could affect. It's a real tricky tough disease. I think forums like this are great to help share things about RA.

My eyesight was perfect up until my RA diagnosis. I now have to wear glasses. It's a tough invisible disease....

@A myRAteam Member - My eyes have gotten worse since my RA and Lupus Dx. I never even thought about it until your post. I'll have to talk to my rheumatologist about this. Thank you for your post, it got me thinking.
