Diagnosed a year ago.Was on Plaquinil and Methotrexate with not much luck.Had two injections in ankle with the first working, second did nothing. Dr stopping these meds and starting me in the Enbrel.Would love to hear the good /bad
Enbrel helped me to go in complete remission for many years. I got bad again and tried other biologics. None of them worked or I had major side effects. I'm back on Enbrel for about a year. While I'm not in remission, I know it helps. Everyone is different. I hope it works for you. Don't expect anything to happen too quick. It takes about 3-6 months before you know it works. That goes for any biologic. It can be hard especially if you have side effects. But if you are getting some relief, keep going. Eventually the side effects will subside. Good luck!
I have long history (35 years) with RA. I had really good luck on Enbrel some years ago and am now trying it again. Methotrexate gives biologics a boost- most docs would strongly recommend you stay on it, though Arava could be an alternative Plaquenil also has really helped me for many years (You have to try it for quite a while to get effect.) Good luck.
