My husband will be retiring and I will be losing his commercial insurance which has covered the biologic drugs that I have taken. Currently, I am using Xeljanz. I have Medicare and will now need to add a prescription plan. I have seen some posts that mention that Medicare will not cover these medications but will any of the supplemental plans cover them?
I'm on Medicare with Silver Script for meds. Most Medicare drug plans do not cover the biologics. Humira has the Abvie assistance program, I was on that since last November. They told me basically if you're on Medicare you're gonna qualify. They approved me at no cost thru Dec 2019. My rheumy is changing my med, I'm going through a similar process for Orencia.
I'm on Medicare Advantage Humana. I'm on Humira which I get from Abbvee Patient Assistant Program. An my Foreto for Osteoporosis from Lilly Cares. Both expensive. When I went in donut hole my Foreto went up to 900.00 a month. Before that about $200.00. Patients assistance programs are strick. Pages on the applications. You have to be approved by boards. But then your drug cost are nothing. But it's a process either way. Wishing you luck❣
I have Medicare and Anthem Blue Cross as a supplement. So far, medications have been covered or with a reasonable copay.
Hope you're able to get coverage that works for you.
